Un entrepreneur bruxellois souhaitait loger une école privée dans ce bâtiment qui fut un temps le siège de l’ambassade de Hongrie. Les combles sont dédiés à l’Ecole 42 bruxelloise. Saisissant le contraste entre les deux types d’enseignement, l’un huppé, l’autre ouvert à tous, AR choisit de jouer de l’exacerber : contraste entre le classicisme extérieur et l’abstraction contemporaine des espaces intérieurs. Contraste entre la matérialité des façades en brique rouge et la déréalisation des bandes noires et blanches dans les salles de travail, en hommage à l’artiste Daniel Buren.
